Single Family Homes
The original design of Quail Hollow Estates by Donald J. Scholz & Company included Single Family Homes, Condominiums, and Apartments. The Planned Unit Development, PUD, was one of the first in the city of Charlotte. The Single Family Homes were the first phase of the development. The building started in 1971 at the same time as the upper lake with the Fountain, the Club House, the Tennis Courts, and the 2 Swimming Pools.
During the planning of the single family home lots, walking trails were laid out. In the early 1980's, AT&T dedicated a thirty-three foot wide "right of way" that ran along the northwestern edge of the property to the association, which was also added to the trails.
The 41 Homes are on 1/3 Acre to 1/2 Acre Lots amid rolling hills, huge trees, and lush landscaping. Construction of these homes continued for around 10 years. Scholtz was the builder until he went bankrupt and then Howey bought and finished the building. Bill Berry built one home as well.
The Single Family Homes are under the "Umbrella" Association. The legal documents are the same as the master association. They have access to all amenities as the Condominiums - Two Pools, an Elegant Clubhouse, Tennis Courts and 3 Lakes.
Dues for June 1, 2015 to July 31, 2016 are $81.48 per month and cover the same as the Master "Umbrella" Association, QHHA. Dues for August 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017 are $85.55 per month.
